MacGuffin Podcast

For this episode of the podcast, we review the new Seth Rogen HBOMax comedy, An American Pickle, a film in which Rogen plays opposite himself. We also discuss our favorite documentaries and we both suggest a modern recasting of Jaws. At the end of the show, we review the 2004 romantic melodrama, The Notebook, which is currently available to stream on Netflix. 

This week we discuss the American live-action remake of the cult anime "Ghost in the Shell," and for the Netflix homework we review the Bill Paxton thriller "Frailty." We also talk more about our recent concert outings, Robert Rodriguez's connection with the "Escape from New York" remake, and Seth Rogan's involvement with the developing film adaptation of Robert Kirkman's ultra-violent comic book series "Invincible."

This week we discuss the twitter/facebook hashtag #fav7films and we review the raunchy, R-rated animated film "Sausage Party." We also review the long-awaited indie sequel "Punk's Dead: SLC Punk 2."

Richard recounts his weekend at the World Horror Convention and we review the indie vampire comedy "Only Lovers Left Alive", staring Tilda Swinton and Tom Hiddleston. We also talk about the rumors about the Power Rangers reboot movie, and Cassidy does a solo review of "Neighbors". At the end, for our Netflix homework, we also discuss the last year's acclaimed film "Short Term 12."  Enjoy!
